In this site I try to break down engineering topics related to grid code compliance, and the bulk power system more generally, for technically curious readers who are not trained as engineers. You will find in these posts what I call "Plain-English Translations" and "Real World Illustrations" after describing a technical topic. They're designed to help non-engineers understand these topics well enough to follow along in technical discussions.

Mainly, I do this for myself as CEO of GridStrong. I'm an attorney by training and have been building software for utilities most of my career. I am not an electrical engineer. But I work with electrical engineers all day, every day, so it's important for me to grasp these topics.

These posts help me distill complex issues for my own work. They reflect my own personal views and are not intended to be relied upon as compliance or engineering advice.
